Frequently asked questions
New to Watch? Start here for the MT5 expert advisor, the AI trading risk gate, and forex and crypto trade risk management. See pricing, about, contact and refunds.
What is Watch?
Watch scans a list of markets (forex, metals, indices, crypto and more), checks each one with a few trading strategies and safety checks, and shows you the setups it finds. Copilot explains what you see in plain English.
It is a research and alert tool. It does not guarantee profits, and past or simulated results do not predict future ones.
What is the difference between signals and auto-trading?
A signal is a suggestion: a symbol, a direction (LONG = buy, SHORT = sell), the strategy that found it and its score. You decide what to do with it.
Auto-trading means the MT5 EA places the trade for you. It is off unless you turn it on yourself.
What are Paper and Live mode?
Paper mode records signals as pretend trades so you can see how they would have done. Nothing is sent to your broker.
Live mode lets signals reach your EA. Even in Live mode the EA only trades if you have also turned auto-trading on in its settings, and on a real-money account you must tick one more "allow real account" setting. Start on a demo account.
How do I install the EA?
Download WatchtowerBridgeMulti.mq5 from your dashboard (Download MT5 bridge source).
In MT5 choose File → Open Data Folder, then put the file in MQL5/Experts. Open it in MetaEditor and press Compile. MetaTrader 5 runs on Windows and on Mac. Watch does not include a Mac desktop app.
In MT5 open Tools → Options → Expert Advisors. Tick Allow DLL imports, and add the Watch server URL shown on your dashboard EA setup guide to the WebRequest allow-list.
Drag the EA onto any chart and paste the bridge key from your dashboard into InpAPIKey. Leave Algo Trading off until you want the EA to place trades.
On the dashboard and on System, bridge status should say the EA is sending data. If it still says it is waiting, the key, the allow-list or the chart attachment is not set yet.
What do the scanner columns mean?
Symbol is the market. Dir is the suggested direction. Conf is the strategy score, not a chance of winning. Strategy is the rule that found it (OG follows trends, SMC reads market structure, BBSQ trades breakouts from quiet ranges). Session shows which markets are open. Thesis lists the evidence.
Hover over a status or strategy in the scanner for a short explanation, or ask Copilot.
What do LOCAL_GATE, LOW_CONF, ASLEEP and AWAITING_SCAN mean?
LOCAL_GATE means a strategy found a setup but a safety check blocked it. The word after the colon says which: Spread (buy and sell prices too far apart, so trading costs too much), RSI (price already moved a lot), Counter (against the bigger trend) or Z (price unusually far from its average).
LOW_CONF means no strategy was confident enough. ASLEEP means the market is closed or very quiet. AWAITING_SCAN means the symbol has not been checked yet, usually because no price data has arrived from the EA.
HALTED is shown as Paused. A daily loss limit means the day’s loss limit was reached. A daily gain target means the day’s gain stop was reached. A start that was not saved means today’s starting balance is unknown. AI_UNAVAILABLE means the AI check could not run. COOLDOWN means Watch is waiting after a recent signal. ANALYSIS_ONLY means research only, not a live signal. PUBLIC FALLBACK means delayed public prices, for research only.
Can Watch trade without my permission?
No. The EA never opens a trade unless you switch on Live mode on the site, turn on auto-trading in the EA, and keep Algo Trading on in MT5. On real-money accounts you must also allow real accounts in the EA settings. Turning off Algo Trading in MT5 stops every EA at once.
How does billing work?
Plans (Starter, Pro and Scale) are monthly, with prices on the Pricing page. There is no online payment: choose a plan and send us the Contact Us form. We’ll get in touch to set up your plan and switch it on by hand. Plans are billed monthly; we’ll contact you to renew. See Refunds for the policy. Broker-reported trades do not use up your plan limits.
How do I get help?
Ask Copilot first for explanations. For account, billing or technical problems, contact support using the details on this page. Include your account email, never a password or full card number.
How do I see the tutorial again?
You can skip the first-time tutorial at any step with “Skip tutorial”, the × button, the Esc key or by clicking outside it. It will not open by itself again. To watch it again, replay the tutorial (you need to be signed in), or use “Replay tour” in Configuration.
